C.B. Fleet Sells Bergamon S.r.l.
October 24, 2006 — The Executive Management Team of Fleet Laboratories is pleased to announce the divestiture of our Italian subsidiary, Bergamon S.r.l. to Omega Pharma N.V., a consumer healthcare company headquartered in Belgium.
This divestiture is part of our ongoing efforts to better align our business focus with high-potential market opportunities. During the past several years, our company has invested significantly in acquisition and licensing activities that have broadened our global business opportunities and strengthened our presence in several key categories. Based upon these activities, Bergamon was no longer a close fit with our long-term strategic priorities.
Bergamon was purchased by C.B. Fleet in 1994 and sold various feminine and skin care lines in Italy under the Bergamon brand, as well as distributing Fleet laxative and Clinomyn oral care products. Under the terms of the divestiture agreement, Omega Pharma will continue to distribute Fleet enema products in the market through their local subsidiary, Chefaro Pharma Italia S.r.l.
